Prep Playoff Results for 2010 Recruits; The Third Installment

This past week 2 of Auburn's 2010 recruits were still vying for a high school football championship. Jessel Curry and the Buford Wolves advanced to the semifinals of the Georgia state playoffs. The Gwinnett Daily Post discusses Curry's 3 touchdowns Friday night. Meanwhile, Trovon Reed and the Tibodaux tigers were eliminated in the quarterfinals of the Louisiana state playoffs.

Tight End Commits After Iron Bowl Visit

Little Rock Christian tight end Dakota Mosely (6'-4" 252 lbs) committed to play football for Auburn after a visit to Auburn this past weekend. Mosely was already high on Auburn, but the visit and some encouraging words from another Auburn commit and his high school teammate Michael Dyer helped Mosely make his decision. UGA VII Dead

Rumors breaking that Georgia's Mascot UGA VII died this afternoon. He was introduced as UGA's mascot in August of last year. Burial is slated prior to GA Tech game.

Auburn Men's Basketball Play Son of NBA Legend Friday Night

The Auburn Men's Basketball team (1-1) take on UCF (2-0) Friday at 5:00 P.M. CT in the Glenn Wilkes Classic in Daytona Beach Florida. Marcus Jordan, son of Michael Jordan, is a Freshman guard for the UCF Knights. The Orlando Sentinel has a story on how Jordan cost his team a $3 million contract with Adidas earlier this month. Coverage of the game will be provided on the Auburn ISP Sports Network by Rod Bramblett, Dameyone Fishback, Brad Law, and Paul Ellen.

Lawsuit Filed Against Eric Smith

Lawyers for Crew & Howell, P.C. of Birmingham are filing a lawsuit against Eric Smith for the alleged altercation between the Auburn running back and Auburn student Decari Jenkins back in August. Read more about it on al.com.

Prep Playoff Results for 2010 Recruits

See the logo to the left. That's the BCS. We're not discussing that here. We're discussing the opposite of that. Playoffs. Highschool playoffs more specifically. Sorry Jim Mora. Of Auburn's 21 current recruits for 2010, 13 saw playoff action this past week with 7 making it to the next round. For these recruits this will probably be the last time for the next 4 to 5 years that they will end their postseason with either a championship or a loss.
